This list changes over time! So please take note of when I last update the list.
Obviously, I have my top 10 lists. But I think Top 10s are a little boring. What I would do is to recommend games based on several different categories. Heh, like the Game Awards.
Best Starter to Narrative Games: To The Moon by Freebird Games. Kan Guo is an exceptional writer.
Best Game to Chill To: Coffee Talk Series by Toge Productions. You’d want to be a barista after playing these games.
Best Linear Narrative: Life is Strange by Don’t Nod Entertainment. Choices really matter in this game, but I do think that overall, the game has a linear narrative.
Best Branching Narrative: Undertale by Toby Fox.
Best Gameplay Loop: Inscryption by Daniel Mullins.
Best Score and Music: NieR: Automata by Square Enix. As a bonus, you get an exceptional story as well. Yoko Taro is a genius.
Best Life-Changing Game: A Space for the Unbound by Mojiken. Everyone must play this game.
Best Action: Lies of P by Neowiz.
Best RPG: The Withcer 3 by CD Projekt Red.
Best Fighting Game: Tekken Series by Bandai Namco. Katsuhiro Harada is also an inspiring figure in my career as a creator.
Best Multiplayer: Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege by Ubisoft. There was a point in my life when I’m utterly addicted.
Best Hot Take Game: Assassin’s Creed: Unity by Ubisoft.
